Free eye checkups delivered through community camps close to home, and cataract surgery performed at state-of-the-art facilities — free for deserving families from economically weaker sections.

Our Story

A Name That Carries
a Family's Legacy

JayamHari Foundation takes its name from the people who built it. KAH Subramanian — the 'Hari' of JayamHari — grew up with very little, but never lacked people who believed in him. He cleared the UPSC on his first attempt and rose to Chief Secretary of Bihar, yet never stopped helping others and had time for everyone.

Jayam Ramasubramanian — the 'Jayam' of JayamHari — is warm, nurturing and endlessly giving. A dedicated lecturer in philosophy, she devoted herself to her students while raising three children, and remains deeply passionate about serving the underserved.

Their work continues today under Kartik Subramanian, Founder and Director, who grew up watching this generosity firsthand and carries it forward — supporting education, free eye care, and other causes close to home.

KAH Subramanian

In Memoriam · Retd. IAS, 1968 Batch

He grew up with very little, but never lacked people who believed in him — a guru who funded his schooling, and a brother who supported him on his meagre salary so he could study. He cleared the UPSC on his first attempt and rose to Chief Secretary of Bihar, yet never stopped helping others and had time for everyone. He is the 'Hari' of JayamHari, and he taught us that the love and kindness we receive are meant to be passed on.

Jayam Ramasubramanian

Founder and Patron

Warm, nurturing and endlessly giving, she cares for everyone as her own and is deeply passionate about serving the underserved — the very purpose of this foundation. A dedicated lecturer in philosophy, she earned her MA, B.Ed and PhD while raising three children, devoting herself to her students until retiring in 2010. She is the 'Jayam' of JayamHari.

Kartik Subramanian

Founder and Director

He grew up watching his parents give freely to others, and it shaped everything he does. Today he carries that forward — supporting the education of underserved children, free eye care, and other causes close to home. An earlier career in senior leadership and consulting across India and the U.S. gave him the means; giving back gives him his purpose.

Vidya Jyoti follows a student from a government-school classroom all the way to employment — support doesn't stop at academics.

School Students

College sponsorship for meritorious students, competitive exam coaching, and a focus on government-school students — piloted in Kadayanallur and Sengottai, Tenkasi district.

Community Learning Centres

10–12 computers per centre for focused exam preparation, with material for IIT-JEE, NEET and TNPSC — designed to double as a confidence-building community space.

College Students

Company connections for hands-on skill-building, one-to-one mentorship from working professionals, and a clear pathway from internship to a stable first job.
